The water blocks for the GPUs were also painted gold, as was the sound card. Leaving them in their standard black colour just wouldn’t do, the gold theme worked well and it’s not a colour you see often in builds.
D33P THOUGHT did have its problems though. I had an issue with a power supply, I replaced that with a 1200W unit from Crucial, I’d sleeved the original cables but couldn’t use them, I have plans to re-use the sleeving, but that’s for later.
I did have issues with parts not being quite right but the suppliers were brilliant. C & C Central and Special Tech changed or refunded me without any quibble at all.

Looking back at the build, I was so relieved to finish it, it was a lot of work and I didn’t fully appreciate the final result until a few weeks later. I know that sounds odd but it did put a strain on my daily life. Would I do it again? Yes, of course I would. And I’d advise anyone thinking of doing a project to keep a log and share it with the
bit-tech community.
It will help you keep motivated and the forum members will help. The build was nominated for a Build Of The Month award, it didn’t win and if I’m honest it did make me lose track of why I was building D33P THOUGHT in the first place…for me. Stay hoopy...
